The Missing Windows 8 Instructional Video

If you have a new Windows 8 computer or you’re thinking of getting one, please – please! – take a few minutes and watch Scott Hanselman’s presentation of “The Missing Windows 8 Instructional Video.” If the video doesn’t appear above, then click on this link to view it on his page. Sure, you can read my article about getting started and you can browse through Microsoft’s brochure, but frankly you’ll learn more by watching the video. It covers “the Start Screen, Hot Corners, Full Screen Apps, Desktop Apps, The Store, Browsing, Doing Social Stuff, using the Mouse effectively and exploiting keyboard Shortcuts.”

Scott Hanselman is a Microsoft developer who put the video together in his spare time. In less than half an hour, you’ll get a look at Windows 8 from the perspective of a Windows 7 user, with an emphasis on the similarities between the two systems – and how Windows 8 improves on the experience of using a computer in very practical ways. It ought to be shown to every Windows 8 user during setup.

It’s a painless way to get a lot of information that will help you enjoy your new computer. Highly recommended!

Thanks to crack consultant BJ Dent of CompuDent Systems in Monterey for bringing this to my attention!
